Jaguar E-type 1966 4. 2 roadster

The car was subject to a full restoration completed in 2016, A new shell was constructed around the original bulkhead using Martin Robey panels and new bonnet,

Body was built on a purpose built jig and all body joints were leaded and it was Finished in carmen red.

The underbody was coated in rubberised stone chip and finished in 2k chassis black.

The engine and gearbox are from a 1965 E-type and were overhauled along with the original rear axel.

The intake manifold was refurbished and a new set of triple Su carburettors were fitted

All other mechanical components were replaced or reconditioned.

Interior fully re trimmed as original with black leather seats. Black carpet set and new Mohair roof.

The body shell was built at catcott garage in Somerset, on completion it was taken to St Albans to be prepped and painted.

After this it was then returned to Catcott garage for final assembly and trimming.

Aside from a uprated electric cooling fan that is fitted within an original shroud to aid cooling, and an aftermarket washer pump the car was restored back to as original.

Since the restoration in 2016 due to work commitments the car has been unused and dry stored.

It has now had a light recommissioning before sale,

Replacement of fuel line

Replacement of some rubber trims

Mechanical check over and inspection

The paintwork is generally in good condition however there are a few small areas of localised blistering. This appeared shorty after the body was painted and was believed to be a paint reaction. They have not got any worse in the 10 years after the car was completed. ( I have tried to photographs ) I’m happy to go into more detail with interested party’s

Brightwork in good condition aside from a dent in one rear bumper and small area of pealing on a front overrider.

Interior and roof still immaculate condition The car is always stored with the roof up.
