1966 Jaguar Mk II 3. 4 – Old English White / Red Leather – Overdrive & Power Steering
Open to offers after viewing.
A very handsome and particularly well-specified 1966 Jaguar Mk II 3. 4, finished in the highly desirable combination of Old English White with a red leather interior.
This is a classic Jaguar in the truest sense – elegant, distinctive and instantly recognisable, with the combination of graceful styling, chrome detailing, wood-trimmed interior and the famous Jaguar grille that made the Mk II such an icon of the 1960s.
The car is fitted with power steering and overdrive, making it considerably more enjoyable and usable on modern roads than a completely standard example. The interior features red leather seats with head restraints, complemented by the beautifully traditional Jaguar dashboard and instrumentation.
The car:
1966 Jaguar Mk II 3. 4
Registration: HRT 402D
Colour: Old English White
Interior: Red leather
Engine: 3. 4-litre XK straight-six
Gearbox: Manual with overdrive
Power steering
Leather seats with head restraints
Recorded mileage: 57, 411 miles
The car has a particularly attractive appearance, with its Old English White paintwork contrasting beautifully with the red interior and extensive chrome. The photographs show the characteristic elegant Mk II lines, distinctive grille and bonnet mascot, together with the period-correct dashboard and wood trim.
History and ownership:
I purchased the Jaguar from Beaulieu Garage on 12th April 2023, when the recorded mileage was 57, 411 miles. There is supporting MOT and historical documentation available to substantiate the mileage.
Importantly, I didn't simply collect the car and put it into storage – I drove it 135 miles home, giving me the opportunity to experience the car properly after purchase.
Unfortunately, due to ill health and a change in circumstances, I have been unable to use the Jaguar since.
Prior to my purchase, the car had benefited from a number of significant items of work, including a:
New radiator
New fuel tank
New tyres
New brakes
Having subsequently spent approximately three and a half years in storage, I felt it was important that the car was properly recommissioned rather than simply advertised as an old car that had been sitting unused.
The Jaguar has therefore recently been recommissioned and fully serviced by a renowned Jaguar specialist, at a cost of approximately £2, 000. A new battery has also been fitted.
This means the car has not simply been brought out of storage and offered for sale; money has been spent bringing it back into condition following its period of inactivity.
A genuine classic Jaguar
The Mk II needs little introduction. It occupies a special place in Jaguar's history and remains one of the company's most recognisable designs. The combination of the long, flowing bodywork, narrow pillars, chrome bumpers, upright grille and beautifully finished interior gives the car an unmistakable presence.
The 3. 4-litre XK engine also provides the character that makes these cars so appealing, while overdrive and power steering add useful practicality for anyone intending to actually enjoy the car rather than simply keep it in a collection.
This particular example has an especially appealing specification and colour combination. Old English White over red leather gives it the classic British grand-touring appearance, while the relatively modest 57, 411-mile recorded mileage, documented history and recent recommissioning make it an interesting proposition for an enthusiast looking for a usable Mk II.
I am selling the car reluctantly and have tried to price it realistically. I appreciate that the classic-car market is different from what it was when I purchased the car in 2023, and I have therefore priced it accordingly.
Open to offers after viewing.
The car is available to view by arrangement. I have the supporting history and documentation and would encourage any genuinely interested buyer to inspect the Jaguar and appreciate it for themselves.
Serious enquiries welcome.
