1965 Mercedes SL Class W113 230 SL Pagoda Matching Numbers

An exceptionally beautiful and thoroughly restored Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagoda from 1965.

This magnificent 230 SL has been completely restored with great care and meticulous attention to detail since 2018. The car was literally dismantled down to the last bolt and subsequently rebuilt with originality, technical perfection and durability as the guiding principles.

The result is a Pagoda that not only looks stunning, but has also been attended to in technical detail.

Restoration to the highest standard

During the restoration, all components were carefully inspected. Where necessary, parts were renewed or completely overhauled. Original parts were re-chromed, yellow passivated or given a high-quality powder coating, with particular attention to durable corrosion protection.

The key technical components have been completely overhauled by specialist craftsmen, including:

gearbox

differential

steering box

Bosch mechanical injection pump

front and rear axles

seats

instrument cluster and gauges

and numerous other mechanical and bodywork components

Matching Numbers & documented originality

An important plus point for the true enthusiast and collector is that the car has matching numbers.

The engine, gearbox, Bosch injection pump, front and rear axles, door handles, locks and other numbered components are demonstrably original and correspond with the data on the original Mercedes-Benz data card.

This means the originality of this Pagoda is exceptionally well documented.

Fully documented restoration

Many hundreds of photographs are available from the restoration. The entire process – from dismantling through to final assembly – has been extensively recorded.

The car was assembled, checked and technically inspected in full by Pagoda specialist Van Dijk in Lisserbroek following the restoration.

Barely driven since restoration

Since completion of the restoration, the 230 SL has covered only approximately 2, 000 kilometres.

The first service interval at 1, 000 kilometres has also been completed.
