1962 Amphicar 770

The Amphicar is a unique chapter in automotive history. It is a car that can sail and drive, but it is a compromise. It is therefore a boat that does not perform optimally on the water and a car that is not among the best performers on the road. It is made of considerably thicker steel and is therefore somewhat heavier. It has two propellers and is steered with the front wheels. Any water that enters can be drained with a bilge pump. The engine is from the British Triumph Herald. At the time, the Amphicar cost about the same as two Volkswagens. Approximately 3, 000 were produced.

This example has been beautifully restored and comes from the USA. It looks almost like new. It is blue with a blue-and-white interior. Ready to drive and sail.
