Stunningly beautiful 1960 Chevrolet Impala Convertible! This is the top-of-the-line Impala model with the 348 big block V8 in Roman Red. This car has had only 2 owners. Purchased in 1994 by a Dutchman from the first owner in the state of Virginia. The Impala was entirely original at the time. In 2003, a complete restoration of the bodywork and floor panels was undertaken. After disassembly, damaged parts were replaced and neatly welded in new parts. Invoices and photos are available. Subsequently, the Chevrolet was rebuilt while preserving as many original parts as possible. Naturally, the rubber seals and weather striping were renewed. After restoration, the car received an anti-rust treatment (Dinitrol corrosion prevention). The red/ white houndstooth interior is largely original and in fine condition. The carpet and floor mat set have been renewed, as has the white convertible top. Technically, the Impala is also in top condition. The 348 cu. i. V8 delivers 250 hp via the automatic transmission. A stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted. Brakes and suspension components have all been checked and parts replaced where necessary. A major service was recently performed and new, correct BF Goodrich Silvertown tires have been fitted (invoices available). As options, this Impala features, among other things, the 250 hp ‘Turbo-Thrust’ 348 big block V8 with 4-bobbl carburetor and dual exhaust system, Powerglide automatic transmission, power steering, bumper guards, right side mirror, original deluxe push-button radio, dual antennas, chrome sill mouldings, and white wall tires. Furthermore, an ‘Extended Style’ Continental Kit is included separately, already painted in body color and completely complete with rubbers and all mounting hardware. For the purists; GM did not begin stamping parts of the fin onto the cylinder block stamping pad until May 1960. This Chevrolet was produced before this time, specifically in the first week of August 1959. Based on the casting numbers and casting dates in the drivetrain, we can say that this Impala is entirely matching numbers in that sense. Impalas from the 1959-1960 series have become very popular among collectors in recent years. This is a chance to own a fantastic Roman Red Impala 348 Convertible! This Impala drives wonderfully.
