1968 Matra Jet V First-owner

Unmistakably French and cherished by the same owner for more than half a century.

Zee Cartwell presents this Matra Sports Jet V: an original Dutch-delivered example from first ownership, with an extensive collection of history and maintenance documentation.

This Matra was first registered on 21 October 1968 and delivered new via Gruno in The Hague, the Dutch Matra importer at the time. A remarkable car, and it is precisely the long-standing relationship with its first owner that makes the story particularly interesting.

The stated total mileage is 111, 330 kilometres. The car is equipped with a five-digit odometer; the accompanying mileage records and historical documents provide further context for this figure.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Matra was restored by its owner. Various Dutch companies carried out work or supplied parts, as documented in the supplied history. This included treating the chassis and respraying the plastic bodywork in the original Rouge Madras colour. The interior was also attended to where necessary.

In the 2024 assessment report, the car is classified as Grade 3. The restoration is now over thirty years old and the Matra shows signs of use consistent with its age and history. It is a classic whose appeal lies in its character, the long ownership history and the available documentation.

The Jet V is fitted with a sports exhaust, a right-hand exterior mirror and a sports steering wheel. Additionally, a collection of spare parts is included, including a new windscreen. Two keys and the available maintenance and history documentation are included in the sale.
