Stratton Motor Company are delighted to be able to offer this absolutely stunning 1960 Jaguar XK150S motor car, and as good an example of this rare car that is likely to be found having has a full body of restoration by a leading classic car company in 2016. A very limited number of these remarkable classic cars were ever manufactured, a true British Classic.
By the time the XK150 reached production its predecessors had already marked its place in motor racing history with wins at Le Mans in 1951, 1953, 1955, 1956 and 1957.
The XK150 was a successor to the XK140, this particular model, the sought after S version being produced in much smaller numbers (Just 69 Right Hand Drive) with the 250bhp 3. 8 litre straight six engine courtesy of the triple 2-inch SU HD8 carburettors and straight port head.
This particular car was originally supplied by Ritchies of Glasgow on the 21st July 1960 bearing the registration 400BGD.
In its life it has had just six owners and is completely a matching numbers car and comes with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate confirming its complete authenticity.
In 2016 the car underwent a complete Body Off restoration under the direction of Hexagon Classics in London, a renowned classic car dealership, and to a very high standard.
At that time the engine was stripped down and rebuilt but giving the opportunity to have a new timing chain, tensioners and new seals along with a new clutch to ensure the longevity of the future of the car. The rebuild was documented and all invoices come with the car.
Some sensible modifications were added at this time which included Koni suspension and an EZ Electric Power Steering Rack.
Finished in British Racing Green with a Suede Green interior this car has to be one of the finest examples of this true British classic cars, a real head turner.
