1964 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller

I bought this car from another private owner in September 2019. It is one of the unusual 'dual personality' cars built between 1962 and 1964 that have some trim items that reflect the previous Series 3 models and a duo-tone interior trim that is unique to those 2 years. I saw the mileage roll-over from 99999, but cannot warrant that the speedometer is original.

The comprehensive history file goes back to 2013 and shows that it has been maintained and improved beyond financial logic!

Before my ownership, the car had the following modifications:

Front Disc brakes with servo and remote reservoir;

Front anti-roll bar;

Alternator;

Halogen headlights;

Manually-switched reversing light with buzzer;

Hazard warning lights;

Indicator buzzer.

During my ownership, the following major repairs and replacements have been performed:

Major structural restoration to front doors, front inner and outer wings, front bumper and valance and near side sills to match the previously resprayed roof and doors in 2022;

East Sussex Minors high specification rebuilt gearbox with new clutch and ball-race thrust bearing in 2024;

Interior stripped and given full sound deadening with Dynamat, bitumen sheet and foam including inside of roof;

New front and rear headlining installed and matched with new cover on parcel shelf crash-bar padding;

4 new radial tyres on stripped and re-painted wheels in 2022;

New driver side timber around door frame and B-pillar;

The remaining timber was sound, so it was stripped, re-preserved with Cuprinol, sealed and coated with Poly-X hard wax-oil (re-coated every other year);

New front seat foam and webbing installed in 2019;

Front and rear suspension completely overhauled with polybushes in 2025;

New front brake discs and pads in 2025;

New timing chain and cover seals in 2026;

New exhaust in 2026;

I have now taken this rolling-restoration project as far as I want to and ‘Florrie’ is now ready for a new owner to drive and enjoy as much as I have.

Florrie is not perfect in every area, hence the price starts with 1 not 2! However, she looks great, runs well and will give someone years of enjoyment. She is ready for the buyer to collect and drive away.
