In 1955, Ferrari and Pinin Farina began work on a replacement for the 250 GT Europa, aiming to create a new car that would mark a turning point for the Maranello house. Enzo Ferrari wanted to standardise production, but the necessary facilities were not yet ready. For this reason, production was entrusted to Carrozzeria Boano, the former Pinin Farina coachbuilder.

Delivered new in 1956 to Luigi Chinetti, Ferrari’s official distributor for America, this Ferrari 250 GT Boano is the 35th produced and one of the 14 built in aluminium out of roughly 75 units produced by Carrozzeria Boano.

Despite its extraordinary elegance, this car also has a racing heritage: in December 1956 it took part in the Governor’s Trophy at Nassau, driven by the racing driver Jan de Vroom.
