The Jaguar XK120 is universally recognised as one of the most iconic and fascinating sports cars of the post-war era. Introduced in 1948 at the London Motor Show, it instantly captured the public with its elegant lines and extraordinary performance, which at the time made it the fastest production car in the world.

In 1949 a XK120 set the famous speed record of 213 km/ h on the Jabbeke straight in Belgium, cementing the model as a benchmark among the sporting cars of the era. In the following years the XK120 set numerous world speed and endurance records at Montlhéry in France, also giving rise to the legendary Jaguar dynasty that would win five outright victories at the Le Mans 24 Hours in the 1950s with the famous C-Type and D-Type.

The example offered here, produced on 7 May 1954 and delivered new in the United States through the renowned Hoffman importer of New York, belongs to the sought-after Special Equipment (SE) left-hand drive original version.

Equipped with the renowned 3, 442 cc twin-cam six-cylinder XK engine in the 180 bhp Special Equipment configuration, this car represents one of the most desirable versions of the XK120 production.

The car retains its factory configuration, as evidenced by the official Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and presents in the elegant original colour scheme Red with Biscuit interior and Fawn hood.
