Beschrijving
Swallow Doretti (1954) is a rare British marque, with only 276 examples produced.
Predominantly exported to the USA, some can be found competing in races on the new continent.
This one has been completely and professionally restored from the chassis, preserving all its period-correct specifications and modifications: Aluminium body, XK120 brakes, Aluminium radiator, Standard Triumph race engine developing approximately 160bhp. The engine has also been rebuilt, as have the gearbox and rear axle.
This Swallow Doretti with typical 1950s race configuration would have competed in its day, as evidenced by its condition upon arrival in France.
Following a complete restoration, it has regained its former glory… whilst retaining its original patina (aged new paintwork)
A race car, surprisingly easy to drive, registered for road use… an opportunity not to be missed.
It was the subject of an 8-page article in the essential French classic car magazine: "Retroviseur".
