Body / Exterior:

The model shown here is a July 1959 190 SL in its original “Ivory Elfenben DD608” matching colour.

After a professional polish with the orbital polisher by our workshop, we note a small paint chip repaired at the top of the left front wing and a small scratch on the right rear wing.

The chrome bumpers and impact strips are in very good condition.

We noted a few small dings on the right rear bumper.

The ornamental chromes (grille, mirrors, door handles) are complete, aligned, and in very good condition.

The rear light cap shows a slight crack.

The mohair hood in colour “Grün” was recently replaced and is in good condition with no sign of snagging, sagging or wear (Invoice available).

Its installation is easy and its seal meets the standards of the era.

The rear mica in PVC is perfectly translucent and in excellent condition.

The leather hood cover in colour “Grün” is also near-new.

The four 13” original steel wheels in colour “Gelb” are in good condition.

They are equipped with their original stainless wheel covers in colour ”Gelb” in good condition, despite some light scratches.

The chrome rear wing covers ROBRI are also in good condition.

This specimen will be equipped with four white-wall tyres / fine tread on delivery.

This specimen has its spare wheel, original jack, and interior cover.

Among the listed exterior options and equipment of interest on this specimen, we note: the leather hood cover in colour “Grün”, the ROBRI chrome rear wing covers, and the interior storage cover.

Interior:

The interior retains its original layout and presents well.

The original leather upholstery in colour “Grün” is in good condition.

We note some light wear on the front seats and a small 10 cm tear on the driver’s seat seam.

This specimen is additionally equipped with an auxiliary rear seat type “strapontin” oriented perpendicular to the front seats (Era option on the 190SL and later the Pagode, not homologated). We note a slight scratch corrected on the backrest.

This specimen is also equipped with a 2-point aviation-type passenger belt.

The leather door panels in colour “Grün” are in perfect condition with no signs of discolouration or sagging. A small snag corrected on the driver’s door panel.

The leather dashboard cap in colour “Grün” is in excellent condition.

The body-colour dashboard in “Ivory Elfenben DD608” is also in excellent condition.

The original bakelite steering wheel in “Weiss” is in good condition.

We note a slight nick in the centre of the steering wheel.

The bakelite gear knob in “Weiss” is in good condition and shows wear patina.

The entire VDO instrument cluster is fully functional.

The KIENZLE 8-day clock is also fully functional.

The carpets in colour “Grün” show slight fading.

Among the interior equipment of interest, this specimen features full leather upholstery in “Grün”, the auxiliary rear seat type “strapontin”, and the passenger belt.

Chassis:

On the lift, the body is sound with no visible accident damage or structural corrosion.

The fundamentals are in very good condition: sills, floors, wheelhouses, boot floor, and wheel arches.

Usage reserve: as a rule we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond what is visually and functionally validated during road test and lift inspection.

During the dynamic test, no abnormal rattling was found in the body or running gear.

The servo brake and its master cylinder were recently replaced (invoice available).

Braking is aligned and effective as original.

The four drums are fully functional and free of seepage.

The factory technical inspection prior to delivery will confirm overall good operation.

Engine / Transmission:

The mechanicals operate perfectly.

Compression tests and road test by our workshop confirm the engine’s good health.

The 4-cylinder starts immediately, with no smoke or suspicious noises and idle is stable, as shown in the 360° video with the engine running available at the start of the slideshow.

In motion, the engine revs smoothly without hesitation or overheating.

Oil pressure when hot is 60 psi at 700 rpm.

This specimen is equipped with two recent WEBER 40 DCOE carburettors (invoice: €3, 249).

Mechanical reliability is enhanced by electronic ignition and a restored radiator (exchange standard).

This specimen has an inox exhaust system.

The four gears of the manual gearbox shift smoothly, with no sticking, especially at the synchros.

Clutch bite is good.

As with many classic engines, oil seal integrity between engine / gearbox / differential remains average.

Other similar vehicles are also available. 50 photos + engine running video on CLASSIC-A
