1953 MG T-Type TD

Fully restored in excellent condition Ivory cream coloured MG TD, no expenses spared as family heirloom. Only used on dry days. All interior and exterior in like new condition.

First registered on the 13th November 1953. It has a 1250 XPAG engine.

My father-in-law first bought the car on the 7th April 1967. I have the receipt of that transaction and the original log book. I also have the first MOT test certificate issued to him on the 26th April 1968 Spondon, Derby.

He used the car while at university for a number of years. It then was stored at his company warehouse out of the way until as a retirement present he wanted it restored.

Full restoration was started in January 2015. See photos. The colour of the car is ivory cream colour. 1, 700 miles have been driven since its restoration. It was completed in September 2016. It was a complete restoration of the car at total cost of over £40, 000. Restoration was undertaken by Hall’s garage, Morton Bourne Lincolnshire. Paperwork includes all the receipts of the restoration which include the new tub, upholstery, new hood, side screens, doors, etc Also mechanically fully restored including engine unleaded conversion, carbs, electrics. Fully electrician components replaced or restored, including instruments, gauges, etc. All chromework, bumpers, fittings etc replaced, renewed. Everything was either replaced or restored to get it back in concourse condition.

Transferred to me on the 30th of July 2019 by my father-in-law.

Clutch replaced and clutch release bearing on the 8th of March 2018.

Since my ownership, I have taken it to the local garage to have it regularly serviced and an MOT check done each year.

In 2025 I took it to Noble Motorsport in Chesterfield to carry out gearbox oil change, rear differential oil change and further other work including the steering. Also at Noble motorsport all the core plugs were replaced and the spark plugs were replaced. While it was at Noble motorsport the carbs were tuned and it was put on a rolling road, at the time the rear brake cylinder, The front brake master cylinder was replaced. £ 4, 500 cost. Also whilst with Noble motorsport it was taken to CSG body shop in Chesterfield to have some minor paint work repaired at the cost of a further £2000. All receipts of work are provided.
