AUSTIN HEALEY 100 BN2 - 1956

Model History: In October 1952, Donald Healey unveiled his latest prototype at Earls Court, equipped with a four-cylinder Austin A90 engine. BMC was thrilled with the car and decided to put it into production. In May 1953, the Austin Healey 100 officially came to market, which Donald Healey christened the "100" to highlight its ability to reach 100 mph (160 km/ h). The Austin Healey 100 BN1, however, was equipped with a 2, 660 cc four-cylinder engine producing 90 bhp and a three-speed gearbox. During a 1953 test of the BN1 by British magazine The Motor, impressive performance figures were recorded: a top speed of 171 km/ h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/ h in 11. 2 seconds, and fuel consumption of 12. 6 l/ 100 km. The Austin Healey 100/ 4 BN1 was produced only between 1952 and 1955 and enabled participation in major motor races and rallies, such as the Tour Auto and the Mille Miglia.

History of this Austin Healey 100 BN2: This is one of the rare Austin Healey BN2s delivered as a new car to France. It was delivered to its first owner in Paris in January 1956, never left France, and was acquired by its last owner in 2015. Gearbox: Four-speed gearbox and overdrive. Operation is smooth and the overdrive engages quickly. Chassis: The front axle has been overhauled and the road-holding is excellent. The chassis behaviour is perfect. No play or noises detected. The suspension is perfect. It features chrome-plated wheels.
