For sale second oldest Tempo Matador 1950. June 13.
Do you want to own a very rare and the oldest drivable Tempo matador known today?
It's very very rough, heavy patina.
This is a special little truck that had a VW 1200cc 25hp engine and gearbox and front wheel drive in the first years 1949 to 1952 with the split screen windows.
Saved from the swedish Woods were it stood for more than 60 years.
I saved it in may 2019.
It was in a really bad shape.
It was scrapped already in 1955 and ended letting it's engine and gearbox save another Matador around 1955-56 then put in the woods to die.
My goal has been to save it back to the road and keeping It's history so I only repaired the damages/ rust that is needed and keeping the patina and rough look.
Made a new wooden bed with all original steel parts, locks, hinges etc and manufactured new steel frames under the bed exactly as the old rusted originals that was left.
New brakes, master cylinder, wheel brake cylinders, brake lines, parking brake cable, new break pads on original brake shoes.
The engine is a VW 30hp with rebuilt cylinder heads, runs Great converted to 12 volt.
It has a ZF gearbox from a Matador 1000 (1953)
NOS original clutch and speedo cable.
Ball joints is renovated by a well known Tempo enthusiast in Germaby
12 volts semaphores, same size and look as original.
A lot of parts for finishing.
7 original Matador rims 16" . 3 pcs of Kronprintz and 4 pcs of Lemmertz (It. s standing on Beetle rims right now)
New wiring, Head lights, semaphores is working
Not registered but I have the old registration documents from 1955.
Missing parts is windows, tail lights some interior, seat bench, windows wiper engine, fuel tank.
I also have an original VW Tempo Matador 25 hp engine manufactured around may- june 1950 for it.
I have plenty of photos from the saving and repair of it. You will see some before, during and after repair in the photos
As I said, i have not renovated it, I have saved it from a certain death in the woods back to the road.
