Plethore Cars presents this sumptuous ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER CLOUD I – 1959

British elegance in its most noble form.

This example was first registered in 1959, a key period for the marque since Rolls-Royce was then launching the Silver Cloud II. It is therefore a Silver Cloud I, the final generation assembled entirely by hand by the British firm and equipped with the renowned six-cylinder engine. An interesting feature: this car also benefits from equipment that would make the Silver Cloud II famous, notably power steering, air conditioning and electric windows. Built in left-hand drive, this configuration remains particularly rare with only 262 units produced out of a total of 2, 238 examples.

The car underwent a full restoration carried out in Poland in 2010, before its acquisition and import into France by its current owner later that same year.

This Rolls-Royce also enjoyed a cinema career, appearing in the Olivier Dahan film Grace of Monaco, with Nicole Kidman in the lead role.

Delivered in an elegant bi-tone configuration Beige / metallic Bronze, this prestige six-seater saloon. Its overall condition attests to careful and meticulous maintenance over the years. The bodywork has a very fine shine, with no apparent rust or visible damage, while the beige leather interior and walnut burr wood trim offer a typically Rolls-Royce atmosphere, warm and luxurious.

Under the long bonnet sits the famous inline-six engine of 4, 887 cc producing 155 bhp, fed by two SU carburettors. The mechanical operation is judged sound and compliant with the model according to the expert report, with a four-speed Hydramatic semi-automatic transmission ensuring a smooth and majestic drive.
