1953 Morris Minor 1000 Saloon. Recent Extensive Restomod.

Where to start with this one...

This 1953 split screen Minor Saloon started off as a 948cc grey example.

It was then acquired in 2017 by its current keeper who is renowned for his knowledge of these wonderful cars and the quality of his restoration work.

Upon acquiring the Minor he emabarked on a full strip down and restoration which enabled many suble modifications to be carried out at the same time. Many, many hours went into this project and the end result is a striking looking example that retains its original appearance but has some very useful upgrades to make for a much more useable example in today's traffic conditions.

Originally registered as SPH222, it has had only 11 previous keepers and was re-registered on its current number plate in October 2000. It is finished in Birch Grey with contrasting red leather seats.

The restomod work includes the following upgrades:

Original engine replaced by Morris Ital 1300cc unit

5 Speed Ford Type 9 gearbox replacing the original 4 speed unit

Ford Fiesta XR2 Front disc brakes with servo assistance

Telescopic front & rear shock absorbers

New wiring harness enabling the semaphores to work in conjunction with front & rear indicators.

Leather Seats

Currently running a single carb, but is supplied with a set of 1. 5 SU carbs.

High Ratio 2. 9:1 differential

GPS speedo fitted (original will be supplied)

Stainless steel door window frames

The overall standard of the workmanship is superb throughout.
