Beschrijving
Beatrice de Galard de Brassac Béarn—daughter of the Prince of Béarn et Chalais and wife of Louis Freeman Genara de Bourbon—traveled across Spain at the outbreak of the 1939 war and took refuge in Idanha-a-Nova with the Padua e Marrocos family. The car was commissioned by the Princess with specific instructions to remove the spare wheels from their usual side-mounted positions and enlarge the trunk to accommodate the spares inside. Featuring coachwork by Fisher, it is believed to be the only one of its kind in Europe, particularly as production ceased in 1940. It bears chassis number V8CSED-39-8293627. When the Princess moved to the USA, the car remained with the Marrocos family; they sold it in 1976 to a collector from Castelo Branco, who subsequently sold it in 2009, and it has been kept in a garage ever since. A total of 1,039 units of the Model 61 Special were produced; given these specific features, we believe this example to be unique in Europe.
