Austin Healey 100/ 6 BN4 - 1957 – Preparation faithful to the spirit of great Austin Healey rally cars

This 1957 Austin Healey 100/ 6 comes from Canada, where it was acquired in 2023 by its current owner.

The car is mechanically very sound and remains close to its original configuration, with the exception of a new exhaust system with a side exit on the driver's side, executed in the purest spirit of Austin Healey competition cars of the era. The 6-cylinder engine runs perfectly and delivers all the character inherent to the Austin Healey six-cylinder.

This Austin Healey has been carefully prepared as a tribute to cars that competed in the great international rallies of the late 1950s and early 1960s. The objective was not to reproduce a specific example, but to recapture the aesthetics and spirit of competition preparations from that period.

The interior is entirely new, with new bucket seats and safety harnesses matched to the green bodywork colour. The original seats are included in the sale.

The bodywork is also in good condition with an older restoration.

It is equipped with a hardtop featuring an air intake and sliding side windows, a specific grille with central opening, Lucas tripod headlights protected by their spherical guards, long-range lights and a Lucas rear light, as well as bumper overriders in place of traditional bumpers.

The overall effect gives the car a silhouette particularly evocative of Austin Healeys entered in the great rally events of the era.

It is also equipped with a Halda Tripmaster as well as various navigation instruments intended for historic rallies. These items are not, however, included in the sale price and may be acquired separately.

With its immediately recognisable style, its particularly coherent preparation and sound mechanics, this Austin Healey will appeal equally to historic rally enthusiasts and collectors seeking a characterful automobile, ready to be used at events, touring rallies or simply for the pleasure of driving.
