MORGAN Series 1 4-4 Drop Head Coupé (DHC) 1947

Discovered in 2005 by Mr Robert Graham BELL, 2nd owner in the Newcastle area where it had remained immobilised for over 20 years, it has been completely restored over 4 years by a handful of renowned and respected Morgan specialists from the Malvern and Cotswolds regions. Numerous before and after restoration photographs.

New chassis number CH 1518 (G. E. E. Engineering), aluminium panels over an entirely rebuilt wooden frame

All mechanical components have been overhauled or replaced where necessary.

Ford 100E engine with a displacement of 1172 cc

Original Moss gearbox (4-speed with synchromesh and reverse).

Radiator fully restored by Vintage Sheet Metal

Other reliability improvements: New wiring loom and instruments have been overhauled and adapted, all converted to 12 Volts negative earth, 4-blade cooling fan, Electronic ignition, Electric fuel pump, Fuel filter regulator, Manual cut-off switch

Wooden dashboard and interior in leather with red carpets, the hood and tonneau cover are in black mohair

Completely repainted in the original colour ivory (Royal Ivory) at the end of restoration in December 2011
