Beschrijving

A Bentley Mark VI in good condition with a well-documented history. The car is fully functional. A previous owner even wrote a book about the car (see photos). The vehicle has been on display in a museum for some time and may require a check-up before being put back into service. Please contact us for information regarding financing options or further details. The previous owner installed an electronic ignition system. He also fitted an overdrive unit, which reduced fuel consumption from approximately 2 liters/ 10 km to around 1 liter/ 10 km and enabled the car to reach speeds of up to 180 km/ h. The brakes were also refurbished by a specialist and perform just as well as those on a modern car. The spare wheel mount is a custom solution, and the car is equipped with radial tires; in other words, it has been adapted for long-distance driving. Contact details for the previous owner can be provided upon request. He has also written a book about this specific model, using this particular car as an example. The Bentley Mark VI is a passenger car manufactured by the British automaker Bentley between 1946 and 1952. In the post-World War II era, the British automotive industry operated under the motto "export or die." After two devastating wars in thirty years, the country was in desperate need of export revenue. Bentley’s contribution to this effort was the first car to leave the factory complete with a body manufactured by Pressed Steel. Previously, Bentley and Rolls-Royce had supplied only a rolling chassis, meaning the customer had to purchase the body separately from an independent coachbuilder. The car was based on the pre-war Mark V model. The Mark VI was equipped with a modified engine featuring an F-head configuration, as well as hydromechanical brakes—meaning the front brakes were hydraulic, while the rear brakes were still cable-operated.
