1949 Morris Minor Series MM

This Morris Minor series MM was made in 1949 but was first sold in 1950. Since then it has had very few owners mostly all within a close distance of each other, it comes with the original registration document from 1950 with all the owners filled out with addresses and then newer copy’s of the V5 logbooks. The folder of paperwork also includes the original order form and any service work or parts receipts the car has had also including previous tax disks.

It remains to be the last “ Thames Blue “ Morris MM series left and has the official orthenticadtion certificate to prove it however the car has been poorly painted later on in life when it become a film car used in the film studios so since then the paint has become deteriorated into slight surface rust or pealing on the (roof, passenger door ) as you can see from the pictures. The bodywork and underneath of the car has never been altered or welded, to minimalist the corrosion underneath the front chassis rails were painted by a previous owner when they undertook a slight restoration including preservation work to the underside and to the interior, such as new carpets and re-trimming the front seats. This has all helped to keep the car on the road to this day. The car has had lots of work done to it in the last year and a half including fitting a rebuilt engine to replace the original that couldn’t be repaired due to a “cracked cylinder block” and a prop shaft service to get rid of a harsh vibration when driving, other work also includes a full set of wheel cylinders brake shoes and rear drums fitted. There has been a few modifications made to make the car slightly more usable such as an alternator conversion , electric fan fitted with a thermo sensor and a screw on oil filter housing fitted. All work done to the car can be taken off at any point to put back to standard as it comes with a boot full of spares including engine parts and gaskets and the original dynamo with fan and front headlights. The car will also be included with the old radiator as a repaired one was fitted due to the old being blocked in the cooling core.
