1949 MG TC

This is a really good example of the famous MG TC, in excellent condition throughout, and with good patina. According to the ‘T’ Register, the car was built on 4th April 1949 and dispatched to New Zealand, where we understand, it remained until 2015 when it was imported back to the UK and remained in that ownership for six years, before being sold on once again by ourselves, to the current owner. The car is in such good condition that we assume it must have been restored during its time in New Zealand. The structure, including chassis, body frame, and panel work is all very good, and the paintwork has a nice finish with only a couple of age-related marks. Mechanically, the car has been very well maintained and the file contains plenty of old invoices. The engine was replaced with another XPAG unit at some stage of its life, and it would appear that this engine was rebuilt in 2008. The engine is nice and lively, and runs very well – it starts easily, shows good oil pressure with no overheating, and the gearbox and back axle are nice and quiet, and the suspension appears to be in good order. The underbody area is very clean and tidy as you can see from the photographs. The interior is very nice indeed – the leather seats, door cards and carpets are all good and the canvas weather gear (hood and side screens) is in good condition and of good quality. There is also a tonneau cover. The wheels are good, and are fitted with the correct-type tyres. This is a lovely car to drive, further enhanced by the fitting of a VW steering box which improves things no end, as you will no doubt be aware. With the exception of the steering box, the car seems to be very original in specification. Comes with V5C, a file of paperwork and workshop manual.
