“Before I left Alan offered me a drive in his Mk V, a very original, untouched 3. 5-litre he had bought locally a year before when it had still been in quite regular use. I jumped at the chance; it had been a black 3. 5-litre Mk V that first got me hooked on Jaguar back in the early sixties, so the type holds a rather special appeal for me.

"JON" is the sort of car you dream of finding - not without signs of wear and tear yet mercifully free of an unskilled restorer's heavy hand. I hadn't driven a Mk V for years but all the type's characteristics were present just as I remembered - the diminutive gear-lever tucked away between the bucket front seats so that at first you almost have to search for it when you want to change gear, the pre-war narrowness of the cockpit and the view down the long bonnet to the "leaping cat" mascot at the end. The smooth ride was still there - it was almost unmatched in its day - and so was the taxi-like turning circle. The vehicles were rotated between being displayed as showpieces within the dealerships and being kept in his large private garage.

The exterior presents well from a distance, but closer inspection reveals plenty of age-related patina and imperfections. Likewise, the interior shows signs of use, the most noticeable being wear to the driver’s seat.

We purchase our vehicles directly from private owners who contact us to arrange a sale - we do not buy vehicles from auctions or on the open market.

Transportation

We have access to a third-party transportation company who can supply prices for transport (approximately £1. 90 per mile with a minimum fee of £150).

Terms and Conditions

Due to the very nature of older vehicles and their vulnerability to long-term storage, all our cars are sold as unroadworthy and should not be driven on the public highway until fixed and made roadworthy (whether showing a current MOT certificate or not).

You accept and understand that using this vehicle on the roads in GB would be unlawful in its current condition, and that it will not be used on the roads in GB until it has been put into a lawful condition.

For the reasons mentioned above, all vehicles bought must be trailered away. We can assist all buyers with this request via a very well-trusted third-party company we use on a regular basis.

All vehicles remain the property of the seller until paid for in full.

Storage

Any vehicles purchased from us are eligible for 7 days free storage, additional storage is charged at a rate of £25 per day.

Returns Policy

All vehicles bought from a distance from any trade seller will qualify for a 14-day cancellation policy. All vehicles will be classed as trade sales unless clearly stated within the description above. From the total reimbursement amount will be deducted the £500 non-refundable holding deposit (to cover reasonably incurred costs and losses) and furthermore, a reasonable figure for any diminishment in the value. The buyer is responsible for the return cost and all damage whilst in their possession.

If the sale is concluded on our premises, then the 14-day cancellation policy does not apply.
