Beschrijving

For sale is this magnificent 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II (Chassis Series PY), featuring an imposing and aggressively styled Limousine body by Park Ward. This vehicle combines aristocratic provenance with flawless mechanical condition.

Provenance & History:

This motorcar boasts a fascinating history, having been formerly owned by the Earl of Rosse and subsequently by Harry Clifford Turner. It is a vehicle with a genuine story, adding significant value to its provenance.

Restoration & Aesthetics:

The car has been fully restored to its factory specifications. It is finished in its original "Suburban Blue," paired with the correct Fawn cloth upholstery in the rear and Black leather in the front driver’s compartment. The bodywork features the rare and desirable factory sunroof.

Mechanical Condition:

Mechanically, this Phantom II is exceptional. Being a late-model PY Series, it benefits from factory improvements such as the synchromesh gearbox on 3rd and 4th gears, making it a delight to drive.

In recent years, the car has undergone a comprehensive mechanical restoration to ensure absolute reliability for touring and rallies. Work includes:

Engine: Full rebuild including new pistons, rings, machining, and cylinder head work.

Ignition: The dual-ignition (twin spark) system has been fully serviced.

Electrical: Complete revision of the dynamo and charging system.

Cooling & Fuel: New radiator and refurbishment of the Autovac/ fuel pump system.

Usage:

This is not just a show car; it is a proven veteran of numerous classic car rallies, where it has won several awards. It is ready to run any distance without hesitation.

Registered as a Historic Vehicle in Spain. Located in Logroño (North of Spain).

We acquired this vehicle after a dedicated search for the ultimate pre-war tourer. We were specifically targeting a Rolls-Royce Phantom II due to its legendary engineering, but what truly captivated us was this specific Park Ward body. The design is incredibly imposing and aggressive—it has a presence that stands out even among other Rolls-Royces of the era.

What makes this car unique is that it isn't just a museum piece; it has been our reliable companion in classic rallies. We invested heavily in the mechanical restoration (engine, dynamo, ignition) precisely because we wanted to enjoy driving it without worry. It offers the perfect balance: the stunning, aggressive look of a Park Ward Limousine with the reliability of a fully sorted pre-war machine.
