Produced starting in early 1965 and marketed at a launch price of 475,000 lire, the Fiat Nuova 500 F represented a big change for the small sedan from Turin.

Production took place in the Lingotto plant in Turin until 1968, then in Mirafiori and finally from 1971 also in Termini Imerese (identified by the first digit 5 on the chassis) and in the Autobianchi plant in Desio (first digit 6). The last 500 Fs left the plants in 1972.
